The operation of the laser is based on the phenomenon of selective photothermolysis. The laser light is absorbed by a specific wavelength of 808 nm and a specific chromophore (photoacceptor), in this case it is melanin, i.e. a dye found in the hair follicle and epidermal melanocytes. The selectively absorbed energy by melanin damages the hair structures that are responsible for its nourishment and growth. The consequence of this process is the loss and destruction of the dwelling. This phenomenon is most effective for dark hair that is in the active growth phase.
The hair growth cycle consists of three phases:
The first phase - Anagen , is the period of intense hair growth.
The second phase - Catagen comes after anagen. This is the period when the hair goes into a state of rest. The hair follicle dies during the catagen process.
Third phase - Telogen is the final phase in which the hair is prepared to fall out. With the end of the telogen phase, the hair follicle re-enters the anagen phase and thus the entire cycle begins anew.
Only during anagen is the laser beam able to permanently destroy the hair
The 755 nm wavelength reacts to even a small amount of melanin.
The 808 nm wave is the most frequently used wavelength in diode lasers, it is most effective for dark hair.
1064 nm the beam reaches even the deepest hair follicles without damaging the skin. The 1064 nm wave mainly affects hemoglobin, it affects the capillaries surrounding the hair follicle, not the melanin contained in the hair. The light reaches the nipple, where it destroys the capillaries that feed the hair follicle. The unnourished follicle dies, which results in effective epilation.
The certified material of the Corian housing is stain resistant, and if properly cleaned, it prevents the growth of mold and fungi. It is LGA certified and GREENGUARD Certified for material with low VOC emissions.
